Wedding Update

Some of you may all be wondering if Melody and I are still getting married since it has been so long since we updated the blog. Well, we are. I think when it comes to matters of importance of what we should be doing, updating the blog is lower on the list. Apparently “getting invitations done before the wedding” is more important. But here is an update of what has been happening so far.

- Invitations are close to being done. Melody has done an amazing job creating them, and we look forward to sending them out soon, hopefully this weekend if possible, since we want everyone to respond to us before September starts so we can continue to plan for who is and who cannot make it.

- We booked our honeymoon ( Melody insists on calling it the "honey" ) to go to the Bahamas. That should be really fun. I have never really gone on a trip like this before, so I am looking forward to that opportunity to see what another country looks like. Is Bahamas even another country though?

- We ordered my suit, the bridesmaid dresses and Melody’s dress is almost ready to go. I think?

- Cake is still being worked on. Mom is working on that, so we are still waiting on seeing what to expect there. But it is probably going to be a cake. Not a pie or ice cream or cupcakes.

- We decided a photo booth might be too expensive, or it is too expensive, so we are brainstorming ideas of things we can include to make the wedding more enjoyable

- We considered adding money to bar tab so everyone can drink a little bit more for free. We haven’t decided yet, but if someone volunteers to help out, we won’t decline. Or Melody won’t.

- Our coordinator at Kyoto is no longer working at Kyoto, so we got a new coordinator. I hope that works out well for us. So far, so good.

- We are in the process of looking for a place to live. It is one of the biggest tasks Melody gave me to do, and it might be a little much for me. I am looking in Sherman Oaks and North Hollywood right now, so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

- We picked up a ring bearer, thanks Thomas, now we just need to make some questions about who will be flower girl or girls? We are just going through the interview process right now and it has been much more difficult than we expected.

- String quartet to play at the church? Check.

My best friend's wedding

tmj wedding

This past weekend,I got to see my best friend get married! Was seriously the most fun I've had in a really long time! More pictures to come, but this one that my other bff joyce sent me makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and is definitely one of my favorites from that night! We were trying to get a picture together all day but were so busy running around doing all sorts of things for the wedding- but finally at the end of the night, somehow the three of us ended up in the bathroom at the same time, and were finally able to sneak in a picture together. I really miss these two and all our crazy adventures, especially now that I'm other side of California... but don't feel too sorry for me just yet- get ready for a major deja vu on October 1, because these two are going to be walking down the aisle AGAIN for my wedding! haha!

IMG_7823_edit

This Sunday we went to the flower shop or the florist to go over our flowery things for the wedding. I had to drag Melody to come with me, and even though she didn’t want to come, I told her it was important and I would appreciate the support. Plus, if she wanted to return those dressed to H &M on time then she needed to compromise and do things that I wanted to do as well.

Our appointment was a 2pm. We got there at 1:55pm, and we didn’t get seen until 2:40pm. Melody wanted to leave because she said it was rude of them to just make us sit and wait there, and I told her we had to wait because I didn’t want to have to drive to another flower place. Plus, it wasn’t really the florists’ fault. There was only one guy there doing the appointments, and there was this family who’s appointment was “running a little long.” And to be honest it was running really long, and I felt really bad for the florist, because these women were quite demanding. And they had really big chins and no sense of style, but they probably had a lot of money so that makes their actions somewhat acceptable. And while playing Paper Toss on the Ipod can be fun, we just wanted to have our appointment and go home. And in the end we ended up waiting longer to be seen than for our actual appointment. And to be honest as long as the florist can do some nice things in our budget I don’t mind how long he made us wait. He even gave Melody a really pretty flower to make her happy.

Memorial Day Wedding Preparation

Today is a great day to do some wedding things. So I decided to be at Melody's bright and early to work on all of the important things and be as supportive as possible as she works on the Stop Motions for the save the date and the wedding website. We are probably 2 months behind on save the dates, and the stop motion while not being the greatest stop the motion the world has ever seen, has a definite DIY appeal that might be enjoyable for a certain demographic. And the rumor is the flowers are really cute, and the night city backdrop is phenomenal.

I also took on the task of continuing our work on the registry. I am not sure if it is too soon to start doing those things, but I am really enjoying it and that is all that matters. Melody says we should wait to see what we need or where we are going to live before putting things on the website we need, I say we should just put these things on there because we would be really lucky to get them and even if we can't use them I know lots of people who will. I put some XBOX things on the list, Melody says we don't need a controller or a game, but I reminded her if we don't get one then she will just have to watch me, and that won't be fun. Target has been our go to for registry work, but we also got hooked up on the my registry website, so we can add lots of other things too from a wide variety of stores, and Melody can try to get as many things from Anthropologie as will allow.

We also are working on refining the guest list and having Melody's parents send us a final copy so that is exciting. And lots of people have been being really mean to Melody lately so that is making the guest list smaller, which is never a bad thing, because it opens up more possibilities for plus ones.

I am hoping we can have some time to start with the wedding website layout today, and start browsing potential places to live, and work on things for Tiffany's wedding too. I was successful in turning in my passport application this weekend, so we can now say we are probably going to be leaving the country for our honeymoon, so that is exciting.

Thoroughly enjoyed Jennie and Carlos' wedding this weekend, and cannot wait to enjoy all of the weddings in between the time we are supposed to be married.

Saturday afternoon hangout with Harry Potter

Ever since moving to so cal, Taylor and I don’t have the luxury of living 20 minutes away from each other anymore. (at one point, we even lived a 5 minute walk from each other!) So since it’s not as convenient to hang out at each others places, one of our new favorite spots to hang out down here is the park. (We learned the hard way during a trip to the zoo last year that I don’t actually like to engage in any sort of physical activity other than eating and sitting, so we try to avoid going places that require too much physical exertion . (but more on that story some other time)) So this weekend, we headed out to the park and took a few pictures.

Anyway, I was just sitting there soaking in the summery late afternoon sun when I noticed that Taylor was being really quiet. So I turned around to see what he was doing, and all of a sudden, i see taylor staring up at me through the Harry Potter glasses that we (or shall we say I) won at Chuck e Cheese with the goofiest grin I’ve ever seen plastered on his face. Don’t you think he seriously looks so hilarious/creepy?? I was really jealous and had him take a picture of me wearing the glasses too, but mine came nowhere near topping his….

As you can see, we are clearly way too easily amused. I really hope for your sake that you had a more exciting weekend than ours!

Cute Outing

Sunday was such a cute outing. Myself and Melody went to Target to buy Melody’s mom a slow cooker for Mother’s Day. Today is mother’s day in Mexico if anyone was wondering. It is always May 10th, doesn’t have to be on Sunday. So we went and bought the slow cooker, and I needed to get some replacement brushes for my Sonicare so we bought those too. When we bought everything, the cashier said, “Oh what a shame, here are $5 off coupons for Sonicare brusheads you could have used.” Yes, what a shame.

So we returned the brusheads right away and we bought them again with the coupon, saving $5. Some may say why would we go through all that trouble just to save 5$. We say, “the greatest risk in life is never taking one.”
